Similar to the tractor market, but far less likely. Given the complexity of mahjong, learning the majority of the game would suffice for this market. As this adds subjectivity I will not bet in this market.

This market also resolves yes in the case that I manage to orally consume every piece of a standard mahjong set in one setting.

  • Update 2026-02-19 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Learning standard: The creator must know enough to play an entire game without getting clowned on (i.e., without making obvious beginner mistakes that would be embarrassing to experienced players).

  • Update 2026-03-06 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Getting clowned on means being called out for incorrectly interpreting rules or majorly suboptimal play — not merely playing somewhat suboptimally.

What defines completing learning how to play the game?

  • learning the most common rules?

  • learning all rules? (including edge cases like nagashi mangan)

  • learning basic strategy (efficiency, defense, push-fold judgment)?

@nyc enough to play an entire game without getting clowned on.

@Incompleteusern this seems difficult as @rewind clowns on even experienced players and is in [redacted] server

@a_clown clowned on for incorrectly interpreting rules / majorly suboptimal play, not for playing somewhat suboptimally

Riichi is easy to pick up! If you even just play through the tutorial of Mahjong Soul, & one or two bot matches a day, you'll get the hang of it quickly.
